Pólvora
RESTAURANT PROJECT
Lights from the past.
INTERIOR LIGHTING DETAIL
We have the great pleasure of presenting the lighting project for the Polvora restaurant, carried out in collaboration with the Sayans Bengoa architecture studio.
Our inspiration for the project were the large Cuban party halls of the 19th century where the opulence of the decoration, contrasted with a dim lighting that helped couples and groups have the feeling of being alone in the room and in the world. The objective of the lighting was to recreate that really intimate and sensual atmosphere.
To achieve this, antiquarian pieces with tailor-made luminaires were adapted to each of the spaces.
On the tables, the classic style screens with brass finishes are combined with the suspended lamps with fringes in warm and red tones inspired by the old resturants of Havana. A few table oil lamps for the table are there with the sole purpose of seducing.
Large suspended brass luminaires crown the bar along its entire perimeter and and delimit the space.
The decorative elements like worn brick walls bring to life thanks to the alabaster sconces that illuminate highlighting their textures.
Finally, in the interior patio the vegetation is combined with lanterns inpired the lighting used by the fishing boats of the time.
