Light & Studio worked in collaboration with Kboene Studio, to offer a differential lighting experience for the new restaurant El Invernadero in Madrid, the new adventure of Rodrigo de La Calle. The spanish chef awarded with a Michelin star thanks his natural haute cuisine concept, joined forces with the interior designer Natalia Casco to create an immersive and outstanding experience that simulates the interior of a greenhouse. Light & Studio was the lighting studio chosen to take the idea to a real lighting experience.
Experiencing el Invernadero is like making a trip through all the senses. A trip where the vegetation and the light give the hand to the visitor and accompany him along a gastronomic and sensory journey.
The journey begins at dawn, with daylight. A natural light that is achieved thanks to the backlight of the greenhouse panels with RGB White LED lighting. This system allows the room to be conditioned with the right amount and temperature of light at different times of the day. The lighting system is supported by lighting in the furniture, which backlighting contributes to create light and dark, and allows you to play with color temperatures to, for example, use a cooler light to illuminate the plants inside the bar.
The contrasts come through the projection of the shadows of the plants in the panels of fabrics that simulate the structure of a greenhouse in the main bar.
All the luminaires suspended on the tables have been designed using natural and organic materials such as mud or rattan, remembering the "vegetable nature" that marks the path started by Rodrigo de la Calle.
As the day progresses, the light changes. At sunset an amber light is generated that simulates the sunset light and contributes to create an intimate atmosphere, which anticipates the arrival of the night, the end of the trip, where the roof of the greenhouse becomes a starry sky and allows visitors to enjoy an evening under the light of the stars.
