Light up to live better
Sometimes, the value of a good lighting project is most noticeable precisely in homes that have less access to natural light. In this type of projects, clients show a special sensitivity towards lighting as an element of well-being, understanding that light not only transforms the space, but also the mood and quality of life.
creating artificial light entries that would simulate the behavior of the sun and accompany the biological rhythm of its inhabitants throughout the day.
Architectural challenges, invisible solutions
In the selection of technical lighting, the idea was to avoid overloading the space and keep the view clear. Plaster downlights were integrated, which blend completely with the ceiling.
The technical project included adjustable mini projectors, which would provide versatility, to highlight the pieces of art that the owners would put in the future.
On the other hand, the space needed to include decorative lighting in strategic spots that would add life and light quality without standing out too much. For this, simple and linear lights were chosen, which contribute to the personality of the interior design.
An important part of the project was finding a solution for the darkest areas of the house: the hallway and the rooms.
The bedrooms have little natural light, since one faces an interior courtyard and the other has no window. In both cases, our proposal was to incorporate plaster light fixtures, not to provide passage light as they are usually used, but to simulate “natural light windows.”
For the long hallway, we designed a light box with stretched fabric and a simple control system that lets the client play with the switches, color temperature, and intensity, mimicking the changes of natural light from dawn to night.
Design for the body and the soul
At Light&Studio, we take residential projects as a big responsibility. Home is where we spend the most critical hours of rest and recovery. A well-thought-out lighting design doesn’t just decorate: it takes care of circadian rhythms, reduces environmental stress, and improves health.
For us, working with an element as alive as light is an honor. Seeing how it transforms people’s quality of life in their day-to-day is, without a doubt, our greatest reward.
