House in the Swamp

Located in a privileged setting on the front line of a reservoir, this house is conceived as anextension of the landscape, merging architecture, light and nature into a single, enveloping gesture. The essence of the project lies in its ability to blur the boundaries between indoors and outdoors, allowing water, air and light to set the rhythm of the space.

The lighting design is based on a horizontal reading of the terrain. Warm light lines, subtly integrated into the façade and around the pool, reinforce the serene, contemporary geometry of the house while establishing a dialogue with the water surface of the reservoir. This interplay between artificial light and natural reflections creates a dynamic visual landscape that evolves throughout the day and across the seasons.

Outside, recessed and linear luminaires are concealed within baseboards, cornices and steps, tracing paths and highlighting the direct connection with the surroundings. Carefully selected color temperatures evoke the warmth of dusk, enhancing the natural materials used in the construction.

Inside, the lighting blends seamlessly with the architecture: trimless recessed lines, indirect light hidden behind structural elements, and occasional decorative fixtures add both accent and scale. The result is an intimate, fluid atmosphere where each space seems to breathe with its own cadence.

This house is not merely lit—it is inhabited through light. A light that does not compete, but accompanies and enhances. A light that yields to the silence of the water, the rhythm of shadows, and the ongoing dialogue between technique, landscape, and emotion
