Defining the Lighting Identity of a Global Brand
For years, Light & Studio has worked closely with Pull&Bear in shaping and evolving its lighting identity. This long-term collaboration has enabled the creation of a visual language that is coherent, recognisable, and adaptable to each architectural and cultural context.
Every store represents a local interpretation of a global concept: a youthful, vibrant, and sensorial retail experience, with Californian inspiration and an international outlook.
Light not only reveals the space—it articulates it, transforms it, and creates an emotional connection with the user.
Sevilla
When Light & Studio approaches a retail lighting project, it does so with a strategic mindset: understanding how the brand’s image evolves in parallel with its audience. In the case of Pull&Bear, that audience is young, hyperconnected, and attuned to technology, social change, and emerging aesthetics in art and music.
Based on that premise, we developed an alighting concept that enhances the brand’s new identity: modern, digital, immersive.
We worked closely with the brand’s design team to create specific lighting elements that strengthen the space’s character and clearly position it within the Inditex universe.
The project seeks a continuous balance between technical precision and scenographic impact. In the main retail area, perimeter lighting interacts with the materiality of the space, while suspended crosswise light lines in the ceiling create a strong foreground of ambient light. These are supported by directional spotlights aimed at key seasonal products.
Transition zones were conceived as artistic installations: mirrored walls and ceilings combined with linear lights generate a sense of infinite reflection, evoking a futuristic atmosphere. This same concept is replicated in the P&B Room—a social-media-focused space created specifically for content generation.
In the fitting room area, the lighting becomes softer to create a more personal and comfortable experience. The corridors follow the same logic as the sales floor, with linear lighting as ambient base and targeted technical lighting for visual focus on the changing rooms.
Inside each booth, two sources of light—one frontal and one overhead—provide an even,shadow-free wash. Presence sensors increase brightness when a customer enters, enhancing the user experience while supporting Pull&Bear’s sustainability goals
For the checkout area, Light & Studio’s product design team created a bespoke fixture that meets both decorative and technical needs: combining direct and indirect light, it ensures clarity while maintaining the overall industrial aesthetic.
This project not only transforms the spatial and visual experience, but also establishes a flexible and globally replicable lighting system—perfectly aligned with Pull&Bear’s brand values.
Islazul – Madrid
In collaboration with the Inditex project team, we developed a lighting concept that marked a turning point in Pull&Bear’s visual identity. The challenge was to ensure optimal product visibility without compromising the decorative elements that structure the space.
Lighting had to act as a compositional thread, fully integrated into the spatial narrative.
We used 100% LED technology to create a warm, even and emotionally resonant atmosphere. Golden tones—reminiscent of summer sunsets—bathe the store in a light that evokes beach life, the sun, and the relaxed rhythm of the day’s end.
This project marks the beginning of a new luminous era in retail: a diffuse, living light that enhances architecture, product, and experience without dominating them.
Preciados – Madrid
Located on Calle Preciados, this is the largest Pull&Bear store worldwide. Spanning nearly 1,000 square metres across four floors, we worked from the outset with the brand’s team to develop a complete lighting strategy.
All luminaires were custom-designed to adapt to the new visual identity. The objective was to achieve a space of high light intensity while preserving warmth and visual comfort.
We used narrow-beam projectors to highlight garments with precision and depth, avoiding glare or oversaturation.
The façade acts as a scenographic gesture: large openings and linear lighting along the spandrels allow the store’s interior to project outward, generating a continuous presence both day and night.
Gran Plaza 2 – Majadahonda
The renovation of this emblematic store provided an opportunity to update the brand’s lighting language with a fresher, more vital approach.
We createda vibrant atmosphere that reflects Pull&Bear’s renewed energy and deepens itsconnection with a younger audience
We installed a fully integrated system of white-finished luminaires with warm colour temperatures, aligned with the brand’s Californian aesthetic. The project included a complete relamping of the existing system and the addition of new backlit elements that introduce depth, rhythm, and contrast.
The result is a brighter, more open and contemporary store, aligned with the brand’s ongoing evolution.
Serrano con Hermosilla – Madrid
Located in a strategic corner of Madrid’s prestigious Salamanca district, this 2,000 m²flagship store was conceived as a “flash of light” in the heart of the city.
The lighting design relies on a scenographic approach using 10° beam projectors that cast theatrical glow as one moves through the space. Each volume and architectural detail is shaped by light with narrative intention.
The project is completed by wall washers, targeted backlighting, and exterior fixtures that highlight garden elements. A retail experience elevated to the level of immersive scenography.
Portal del Ángel – Barcelona
Under the creative direction of Lázaro Rosa-Violán, we collaborated in shaping the lighting concept for this iconic store, awarded “Retail Space of the Year”.
The design breaks from convention and embraces a festive, theatrical aesthetic with visual cues from the circus, fairgrounds, and popular performance culture. Tent-shaped ceilings, neon lights, fairground bulbs, and kinetic decor define a unique spatial experience.
On the upper level’s central patio—styled as a Californian garden—we developed a layered lighting strategy: wall washers illuminate the botanical patterns of the awnings, while spotlights enhance the finer details of the installation.
The result is a playful, exuberant environment that remains truly memorable.
Mataró Park – Barcelona
This store offers one of the purest expressions of Pull&Bear’s “California Style” concept.
The lighting approach combines narrow-beam metal halide lamps directed at key architectural elements with suspended decorative fixtures strategically placed for warmth and texture.
Traditional window displays are replaced with a backlit glass block wall using warm-toned linear LEDs, creating a soft, shifting translucency. Light dances across the surface, introducing depth, rhythm, and a powerful invitation to step inside
Berlín – Germany
The Berlin flagship store is defined by its striking 15-metre curved façade in glass block.
We designed a programmable linear lighting system that creates geometric patterns visible through the glass. Dynamic sequences animate the surface, transforming the façade into an aluminous, expressive canvas.
The result is a strong and flexible nighttime identity that enhances brand visibility in one of Europe’s most influential retail capitals.
Shanghai – China
As consultants for the brand in Asia, we contributed to the lighting design of Pull&Bear’s flagship store on East Nanjing Road, Shanghai.
Behind a classical façade lies a warm, immersive interior. Retroilluminated lattices, perimeter LED window lighting, and RGB projectors on the exterior enable the store to adapt to different moments, campaigns, or events.
A warm colour temperature maintains the brand’s Californian visual identity, creating a sense of closeness even in the midst of a bustling metropolis.
Taipei – Taiwán
This two-storey store features a large glass block façade backlit from within—its most prominent architectural feature.
We combined focused spotlights, warm-toned backlighting, and a curated selection of decorative luminaires to deliver a space that is both characterful and highly functional.
The project presented a complex logistical challenge, successfully overcome, and strengthens Pull&Bear’s presence in a key strategic market—positioning the brand as globally consistent yet locally responsive.
